Jun. 14th, 2004 02:01 pmOoh, this is pleasing to read. Some may recall me mentioning a few months ago after the publication of the Hutton report the rediculous pack of lies broadcast by Fox News about the BBC the same day. Well, here's an interesting little article from MediaGuardian published today about the complaints made to the UK Regulator Ofcom about it. To summarise, for anyone who disagrees with MG's insistence on making everyone register now so they can collect details, the complaints have all been upheld.
Fox News was therefore in breach of Sections 2.1 (respect for truth), 2.7 (opportunity to take part), and 3.5(b) (personal view programmes - opinions expressed must not rest upon false evidence) of the Programme Code.
Okay, so nothing much is going to happen to them for it, but even so - Ha! Hmm... I wonder if Mr Gibson will be commenting upon this one.
