Oh no! Does everyone remember a few weeks back when LJ comment notification emails were randomly disappearing? Well I've just received two notifications the last hour, one dating back to the end of June from huskyteer and one from mid-July from loganberrybunny. I have a horrible feeling every single missing email is going to start turning up now. You wouldn't credit that Livejournal could mess something up twice! =:\

really bloody annoying as I have to dig through HUGE amounts of unfiled messages to find them...

It's the same here. It took me about 10 minutes when I first connected just to work out why Mozilla was telling me I had 4 new messages in my LJ folder when I could only see 3 of them!

Mind you, I see that not one of the comments posted on *this* entry has generated a notification email yet. *rolleyes*

Ha! You think that's bad....

Back when I first joined LiveJournal, I was getting comment notifications just fine for about a month... and then suddenly Localnet and LiveJournal discovered they didn't like each other very much. Maybe they had a fight or something. I don't know. Anyways, for nearly the entire year of 2003, I received no comment notifications at all, and then about every three months I would suddenly be dumped with 63 comment notifications that were several weeks old. Exactly sixty-three emails, every time. This was par for the course for maybe ten months or so.

Yikes! 63! Although I can actually imagine vaguely what it's like. When I used to look at my Hotmail account through Outlook Express, despite all the emails already being on the computer, due to the dodgy propriety way OE interfaces with Hotmail, every few months it would suddenly decide to re-download every single message in my inbox, coming to about 150 messages.

Ahh this is the one you meant. Looks like quite a few people have had the same thing happen to them. And in my case its even more tricky to find where some of them came from 'cos I can't just click the link to go straight there. :P

*sighs* And they're still coming through today. I've had ones from you, Leana and Befrafa just in the last two days. Not that I mind hearing from you three normally you understand, but I don't need LJ to remind me about something everyone said nearly a month ago. I haven't a clue just how many more there might be either. =:o
