Lots of Parcels and stuff
Jun. 8th, 2004 12:03 pmYay! I have my new DVD Writer at long last, and it actually works. I don't know if my weak disposition can handle burning DVD's mind; everytime the harddrive starts loading for no apparent reason, and the buffers all drop to zero, I get all nervous. I'm not used to having a burnproof drive, so I've no idea how trustworthy the technology actually is. Actually, I was expecting the drive to be damaged, if you saw the battered state of the package that came. It's the first time I've ever actually signed something as 'Unchecked' as I wasn't going to take the chance. Ebuyer were good in that they sent it a day earlier than expected (it should have arrived Wednesday, as I never paid the extra £2.50 to have it today), but it's no secret that they're absolutely terrible when it comes to packaging items properly.
Still, at least Citylink actually deliver their stuff. Royal Mail on the other paw are still pissing me about holding on to my parcel. They tried to deliver a parcel I sent home with some stuff in on Saturday, but were missed. The redelivery should have come yesterday. Well, it's now Tuesday, and there's still no sign of it. Last time this happened (with my Watership Down LP coincidentally), they messed us about for 4 days fobbing us off with 'oh, it's on it's way and it'll be there soon' excuses, before they finally admitted 'oh, it's actually still here in the office' and finally sent it. 6 days from the failed delivery it took to get that one. =:\ Ugh, Royal Mail are generally good, but their nearest office up at Leadgate is pathetic.
