Sep. 29th, 2004 09:13 pmYay, I now have a broadband connection. =:) The line was activated this morning, a few days ahead of the predicted October 1st date. It's much nicer to have this fast connection once more, especially as it gives me even more excuse to sit in front of the computer for hours on end. =:P There's only one major problem I've encountered so far. A few people have found before that my websites couldn't be accessed. Well, the ISP I'm on is one of those to have problems too, leaving me unable to directly access my own sites. I can easily restore HTTP access to the site by browsing through the university's proxy server, however POP email access is still unavailable. The problem seems to be with the nameservers on the hosts server not responding fast enough or something like that, and from what I gather on their forum, lots of others have found the same. I'm still trying to figure out a short-term solution to this on my computer side, though it's looking increasingly likely I may have to look for a new webhost longterm. It's a hell of a job to move that much data from one host to another and set everything up again, however this problem has gone on far too long, and something has to be done about it. =:\ Now I just need to find something to do with the connection. Anyone out there still play Worms Armageddon? =:P
