Chronic Something-or-other
Mar. 27th, 2008 08:20 pmWell after 5 months, I've finally been referred from the GP for a full Chest X-Ray and Spirography to try and work out what's causing the persistent cough (those who've seen me at any meet since November will know the one :P). It sounds like the infection that was there at its peak in December/January has cleared, but they're at a loss as to why I'm still coughing so much if so, hence all the further investigation work. I really wish I'd been able to register down in Ipswich at a Doctors, as all this to-ing and fro-ing between Durham and Ipswich is costing me, but personal reasons got in the way there. x.x
Hopefully I'll have some answers soon, and if not I'll look to buy shares in National Express...
Edit: X-Ray booked in for next Friday!

Date: 2008-03-28 04:19 am (UTC)As for the cough... it all sounds horribly reminiscent of the cough I had a few years ago, though there wasn't even a noticeable infection in my case; nothing on the X-ray at all, and my lungs were totally clear and normal; I just had the embleer coughing the whole time. I'd love to be able to suggest something, but all that helped was drinking water all the time (which produced its own problems...) and in the end it lasted the entire winter and some of the spring.
I'm rambling, though, and since I don't have anything concrete to suggest I'll stop here. I really do hope that cough goes away, though, as I know how unpleasant a really persistent cough can be. *hugs*
