I have heard from my various sources that they're planning on doing a remake (or whatever the trendy word they're using these days) of Watership Down, just with otters in the title role rather than rabbits.

Now don't get me wrong. I love otters as much as the next person, but putting them on a hill in the middle of the Berkshire/Hampshire countryside? This is just going to be a trainwreck of a film. Why must remakes butcher everything sacred nowadays. :(

Erk. =:S I'd seen this as a passing rumour somewhere (can't remember where now) but thought it was just someone being silly. It seems a strange idea, however you look at it -- the story would have to be changed so much that they might as well make an original story anyway. With luck it'll never actually happen...

I'm not too surprised - after the success of Tarka: Evolution otters have been insanely popular. Is it going to be CGI or hand drawn?
