Someone wants to say hello...

Well I just got back from Confuzzled today, after spending the weekend away (admittedly only an hour from the house, but its still an away!). It's been a sweltering one, especially by Manchester standards, but luckily we all survived. I could write pages and pages of con reports with blow by blow detail, but to be honest if you were there you probably don't need to read it all, and if you weren't then you're probably sick of reading them. So instead, I'll just keep it very brief and say that the events were as ever great and very well put together, especially the amount of extra care and detail that went in to including in touches of the con theme. I was a bit disappointed to have to miss the Pawpets show, as unless you were in early it was impossible to see or hear what was going on, but that was only a minor loss. It was still great to catch up with a lot of people who I so rarely get to see, as well as meet quite a few new faces, whom I'll probably forget the names of but I will remember the faces of I promise! I look forward to seeing many of you again for Confuzzled 2012, and hopefully a few extras!

The big debut this weekend of course was the Ent suit. A few people knew this was coming, even before that LJ post on Friday, as I've not been able to remain completely tightlipped about this, but the commission went in on a partial fursuit back in March, with an original target completion of May-June from Shirik of Hybrid Studios. As things ran ahead of schedule, he was actually ready in time for Confuzzled! I still have a lot of getting used to wearing this, and a few niggles and tweaks to iron out, but I expect him to come out bouncing more and more over the next few months. And this is only the beginning. This is still only a stepping stone for me to practice, get into character, and feel out a bit more of a direction ahead of a second fullsuit commission possibly next year.

The prime reason it was sweltering for the con wasn't really the weather... The Hotel's central heating boiler controls had failed and were stuck switched on.

Yeah there was a lot they needed to fix, but I think most people's con reports have touched upon the issues from the hotel. :P

And so far I haven't read a single con report that doesn't say "Well, I won't write a con report, cos you'll have seen loads already" :)

Well I know you said there were a few things need altering, but I think so far it looks just great! I especially like that hair too! And I can see a certain t-shirt too... =^_^=

Well they're mainly 'under the hood' style stuff, like twiddling with the elastic in the arms and changing the shirt. I need something baggier, and am probably going to drop the picture-based shirt when using the suit and keep it for when not in suit, just because it looks odd having a character wearing a picture of himself. :P
