Loads of people seem to be signing up to Dreamwidth lately, on the basis it's what Livejournal used to be...

... surely if it's what Livejournal used to be, then it is destined to one day become what Livejournal apparently became too. :P

THAT is just plain depressing.

That is too deep and philosophical for a mog of simple means. ;)

I wonder, does it go round in circles? Can people then come back here on the basis that LJ has become (will have become, anyway) what LJ used to be and DW now (meaning then) won't have been it any longer but will have become what LJ was before it would have been what it was now by the time DW had become what LJ was in the past but not quite what it is now (then)?

Pretty obvious, I'd say. LJ's had some rough times, but for the most part, it works beautifully well.

Let us also not forget DeadJournal and InsaneJournal, also refuges of the past.

Really, if people want a ludicrously unreliable service, oughtn't an eye or two be cast at Twitter? (A service which only deals in <140 char entries, to boot)
