Not a change of address as such, but...

In a somewhat surprising turn of things, apparently the parents will be moving house in the next month or so. Despite having lived in Manchester for so long, I still feel quite attached to the old place, and it's certainly a weird feeling to know the home I've grown up in and known for near 28 years soon won't be ours anymore.

This does also mean that, despite saying it would always be the same, if anyone sends any post then the address in County Durham should be considered no longer available for use. Most folks post things to my Manchester place anyway, but it's probably worth mentioning this just in case!

I sort of vaguely wish for this sense of old familiarity so many have, both with a family home, and grandparents - we've moved around dozens of times, although some places certainly do stand out as especially fun places to have inhabited, like the old mill in one village, complete with water wheel, and the lower grindstone in the middle of the lounge. ^_^

The restaurant was good fun, too. I only helped out here and there, with some of the washing up, and writing the menus in Old English script, using an italic fountain pen - so I was mostly merely witness to the sheer amount of work that was involved, but similarly, I also knew just how rewarding it was, in the sense of being a very satisfying kind of work.
